Position Summary:The prospective candidate is a person who will help us stay cutting edge. Necessary skills include the ability to visualize innovative new solutions, implement new infrastructure and train junior technicians to assist in supporting the infrastructure. Network comprises Unix servers, Windows servers, and Windows clients. Large amount of virtualization used in the network. The position will report to the MIS manager.
Technical Skills: Significant expertise in Unix and Linux [Debian] implementations. Network architecture, switch management, monitoring. Firewall architecture, implementation and maintenance. Virtualization software including VMware, Virtual Server, Virtual PC. Network protocol expertise including TCP, IP, UDP, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, SSL, sniffer and monitoring tools. Monitoring software. Operating Systems – Windows 2003, XP, Win 2K, Linux, AIX, etc. Ability to troubleshoot Windows client computers. Candidate will provide occasional support of client and printer infrastructure. Some minimal telecommunications support.
This candidate will also be sharing on-call duties with other administratorsand be availableto work after hours.
