Assortment

The Build Up

When it comes to retail assortments, more isn’t necessarily better. Imagine, for instance, a store with two aisles full of men’s belts or four aisles full of women’s scarves or six aisles of, say, children’s sneakers. Yes, there is such a thing as too much choice.

Buyers have to determine the ideal breadth and depth of merchandise to make a wide range of your in-store and online shoppers happy, while also keeping budgets, historical sales, margins, store capacities and your brand identity in mind. Enter Jesta’s Assortment solution.

Jesta’s Assortment tool helps you build new items with ease and optimize your merchandise mix for an entire selling season. Select each item’s characteristics with store and customer segments in mind, and gradually develop product ranges that are cohesive without pressure to finish the process all at once. When new items are validated, buyers can convert them into POs via the same screen; the Open-to-Buy is accessible too for complete efficiency.

Targeted Assortments

Budgets, sales and store segments can be drawn upon for breadth/depth forecasts.

PO Efficiency

Assorted Goods

Begin building items via a variety of mandatory and optional fields (style, vendor name, size, colour, cost etc.), and return anytime to continue/complete the process.

After provisional or “in progress” styles and POs are validated successfully, they’re converted into actual styles and new POs.

Provisional style and PO data can be filled in manually or automatically by selecting a predefined style template (adjustments can be made) or by importing an Excel file.

Cost Components are defined during product PO building; Shipping Cost Components can be calculated in a container simulation framework.

Assortment Numbers are used to group styles for a certain season or buyer; collection numbers are used to group styles based on the location they are being bought for.
